What to expect
1) Please fill in the form above to reserve a time slot. The form will reset and display a success massage. You don't have to keep pressing the Signup button. It will work with the first press of it. Just give it a moment for the form to reset and display your success message.
2) Expect to perform three songs or more and if the night is ridiculously busy with walkin's, than your set may be reduced to two songs to allow everyone to play. If you miss your time slot, Joe will try and squeeze you back in if time allows.
3) The time slots are a rough estimate of your performance time and this may vary widely depending on the time constraints of the evening. It's more about who's next in line. Some acts take a more time to setup and break down their equipment, which delays performance times. Any questions, let Joe know.
4) Joe is very busy and if you would like to contact him about the possibility of recording at his studio, “Hit Song Studio's” please say yes to recording on the form and he will contact you when times allows.

artist etiquette
Mic etiquette: Please sing close to the mic, lips almost touching for the best sound. The sure Sm58 is a dynamic microphone where the best sound is achieved at a very close distance. When you sing further away your vocal will sound small , hard to hear and the chances of the microphone picking up speaker sound is high, the result would be feedback.
Microphone Direction: Never point the microphone at any speaker or you will get feedback!
Feedback: When the speaker picks up the microphone. If you experience feedback, direct the microphone away from the direction of the speaker.
- Feedback Types: High end feedback mostly happens when a vocalist is to far away from the microphone and the microphone picks up the speaker
- Low end feedback mostly happens on acoustic instruments. So to compensate for this. guitarists roll off your low end.
- If you have a wireless ¼" for your guitar that you hand to the host let him know to back off the gain on the channel and reduce the lows.
Speaker Placement: Usually the main speakers facing the audience are in front of the microphone and the performer and the stage monitor is facing the performer but Joe places them slightly facing the performer for optimally sound.
Loudness/Volume: Of course we all want the volume loud, because we're all rockstars, right?
-If the volume is to high patrons in the front rows will usually leave due to ear fatigue/ear pain.
The proper volume should be comfortable for both you and the listener.
-If you're in the audience and the volume isn't as high as you'd like, please move forward towards the stage area. If the volume is to loud, please inform the owner Mel or the staff and they will let Joe know and he will make the proper volume adjustments for you.
